Emery joined soccer again this year and plays for the U9 league on the Orange Team! She is having fun, but those morning games are getting COLD! She has one more game this Saturday (10/10/09) and then the season ends. She is not sure if she will play again next year or just continue to do gymnastics and piano lessons. She is also very excited to take a pottery class that begins next week and has really been wanting to learn to knit!

Grand Rapids High School Marching Band
Lane had the privilege of joining the marching band this year as the youngest musician in the band! This year he is on bells in the frontline percussion section. They practiced quite a bit over the summer and some mornings before school. I have been to every competition to cheer them on! They "Rock the House!"
Eastview Competition A: 2nd Place (missing 1st place by .6!) and the award for Most Outstanding Drum Majors!
Rosemount Competition AA: 1st Place overall, Most Outstanding Drumline, Most Outstanding Hornline, Most Outstanding Color Guard, Most Outstanding Drum Majors, and the Esprit de Corps award!!!
Irondale Competition AAA: 4th Place overall
Eden Prairie Competition: TBA
Minnesota State Fair - August 2009
We took the kids down to the Minnesota State Fair for one last adventure before school started. Jake had been to the fair before, but for the kids and I this was our first time. We met up with my mom, my siblings and their significants. We had a lot of fun eating various foods on a stick, riding rides, looking at the animals and different exhibits, and did I mention eating? Jake and I even got to have a few minutes to ourselves on the Sky Ride. It was a fun-filled day!

Up At The Cabin
We had some of our relatives come up for a visit from Indiana this summer. They rent a cabin up on Little Dead Horse Lake and we always have a good time up there!
